Keratin Treatment

A keratin treatment fills the gaps in a damaged hair shaft with a keratin-based solution, then seals it with controlled heat. The result is smoother, straighter, more manageable hair for three to five months. It is a smoothing treatment, not a permanent straightener.

Keratin vs Rebonding

Keratin smooths and reduces frizz while keeping some movement; it fades gradually. Rebonding chemically restructures the hair's bonds and is permanent until it grows out. Keratin is reversible by time; rebonding is not reversible at all.

How Keratin Works

Keratin fills the structural gaps left in a damaged hair shaft, then seals them under a flat iron at a controlled temperature. Temperature control is the entire craft: too cool and the keratin does not bond, so the treatment washes out in weeks; too hot and you damage the hair you set out to repair.

It is a smoothing treatment, not a permanent straightener. Keratin reduces frizz while keeping movement, and it fades gradually over three to five months. Rebonding, by contrast, chemically restructures the hair's bonds and is permanent until the hair grows out.

Can I have keratin on bleached hair?

Sometimes, but not always. If your hair snaps rather than stretches on a wet-stretch test, it needs a bond-repair course first. A technician who books you anyway is selling, not diagnosing.

Is a strand test necessary?

Yes. It takes ten minutes and it prevents an irreversible mistake on a full head of hair.

Do I need a special shampoo afterwards?

Yes. A sulphate-free shampoo is the difference between five months of results and eight weeks. It is not an upsell.

How long does the appointment take?

Three to four hours depending on length and density. Plan the day around it.

How long does a keratin treatment last?

Three to five months, depending on how often you wash and whether you use a sulphate-free shampoo. Sulphate strips keratin faster than anything else.
