GSB (Granular Sub-Base) supplied by SRT Blue Metals is a well-graded mixture of crushed stone, gravel, and natural aggregates used as the sub-base layer in road pavement construction. It forms the primary structural layer between the subgrade soil and the base course.
GSB performs the dual function of providing structural support and drainage. The graded aggregate allows water to drain away from the pavement structure, preventing moisture-related damage and extending the life of the road. It is specified by MORTH Clause 401 for all highway projects.
Granular Sub-Base is the lowest structural layer in road pavement construction. It distributes traffic loads from the upper pavement layers to the underlying subgrade soil, reducing stress concentrations and preventing rutting or failure of the road surface.
SRT Blue Metals supplies GSB material conforming to MORTH Table 400-1 gradations. Our GSB is prepared from sound crushed rock and natural gravel, properly blended to achieve the required Liquid Limit, Plasticity Index, and CBR (California Bearing Ratio) values.
We supply MORTH-compliant GSB for highway, municipal road and pavement sub-base construction.
