It depends on what is failing. If the slab is sound and the problem is surface porosity or hairline crazing, a liquid-applied acrylic or PU coating is usually enough. If water is already tracking through construction joints, around drain mouths or along the parapet junction, a coating will not hold it — that needs a full membrane system with the junctions detailed, taken up the parapet and dressed into the outlets. Our site inspection tells you which of the two you are looking at before any price is discussed.

A correctly specified and correctly applied system should give eight to ten years on a terrace and considerably longer below ground, where there is no UV exposure. Our written warranty covers the system and the workmanship for the agreed period. It does not cover damage from later structural movement, new penetrations cut through the membrane after handover, or blocked outlets left standing with water — which is why the handover pack includes a short maintenance schedule.

Below-ground and internal work can carry on. Exposed terrace work cannot, because every system needs a dry, cured substrate and a clear weather window to cure in. Applying over a damp slab is the single most common cause of blistering and early failure. If a leak is urgent during the rains we will do a temporary containment and programme the permanent system for the first dry spell.

If the floor sees hot water, steam cleaning, sudden temperature change or aggressive food acids, specify PU screed. If it sees forklifts, oils and general chemicals and needs a hard, cost-effective seamless finish, epoxy is usually right. For a typical self-levelling epoxy, plan on surface preparation plus about three to four days before light foot traffic and around seven days before full vehicle loading. PU screeds take longer. Fast-cure systems can compress that where a shutdown window is tight — send us the dates and the area and we will work backwards from your window rather than quoting a standard programme.

In most cases, yes. We phase the work bay by bay, use dust-extracted grinding equipment so adjoining production is not contaminated, and hoard off the working area. It costs a little more than a clear-site programme and takes longer in calendar days, but it avoids a full shutdown. Tell us which lines cannot stop and we will plan the sequence around them.

A technician visits the site, inspects the affected areas, checks the junctions and drainage, tests the substrate where relevant, photographs the failures and identifies the root cause rather than the symptom. You get a written observation note and a system recommendation. There is no charge and no obligation, and we would rather tell you a coating will not solve your problem than sell you one.

Both, depending on the job. Area-based systems such as terrace waterproofing and resin flooring are quoted per square foot against a defined system build-up and thickness. Injection grouting, structural repair and tank treatment are quoted as a lump sum or per running metre. Every quotation states the system, the number of coats, the dry film thickness and what is excluded, so you can compare it fairly against another.

Both. We are an authorised dealer for seven brand partners, so you can buy material from us over the counter. But most of our work is supplied and applied by our own trained crews — that is the only way a warranty on the finished system means anything, because most failures come from application rather than from the product.
