A floor fails for one of three reasons: the wrong system, poor surface preparation, or joints that were ignored. We take all three seriously before the first drum is opened.

Preparation
Diamond grinding or shot blasting to open the concrete profile, moisture testing, crack routing, joint arrangement and priming. It is the least glamorous part of the job and the only reason the floor lasts.
FAQ
If the floor sees hot water, steam cleaning, sudden temperature change or aggressive food acids, specify PU. If it sees forklifts, oils and general chemicals and needs a hard, cost-effective seamless finish, epoxy is usually right.
For a typical self-levelling epoxy, plan on surface preparation plus about three to four days before light foot traffic and around seven days before full vehicle loading. Fast-cure systems can compress that where a shutdown window is tight.
Only after mechanical preparation. Oil-contaminated concrete has to be degreased and then ground or shot blasted back to a sound, open profile. Coating over contamination is the most common cause of peeling floors.
